LASH LIFTS
ABOUT LASH LIFTS
A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment designed to curl your natural lashes from the root, using a silicone shield and perming solution to reshape the structure of your lashes. A lash tint is included in every lash lift appointment to darken your lashes, enhancing the overall look. While the tint typically lasts about a week due to the natural coating of the hair, the lift itself can last 6–12 weeks, depending on your lash cycle and how well you follow aftercare instructions.
It’s worth noting that lash lifts offer less customisation compared to extensions. The results are based on your natural lashes' length, density, and condition. If you're looking for more tailored options, such as adding volume, length, or specific styling like wispy, more symmetry or cat-eye effects, extensions may be a better fit for you.

"Honestly can't speak more highly of Simmy/ Makeup and Beauty Bar! I've been getting lash lifts here for 2 years and always get beautiful results. I feel so much better about myself once i've left the salon. The website is the best i've seen from any salon, Simmy has obviously spent much time explaining the procedures she offers in detail which is really appreciated. Simmy is beyond kind and makes sure i'm comfortable, she remembers what we had spoken about previously and you can tell she genuinely cares about her clients. i wouldn't go anywhere else! Thank you Simmy, i'll see you soon <3"

Pre-Care & How to Arrive for Your Appointment
To ensure the best results:
-
Arrive with clean, makeup-free lashes and eyes—no mascara, eyeliner, or oil-based products- no mascara, eyeliner, or oils to avoid surcharges, cutting your treatment, affecting the results or possible cancelation of your appointment
-
If you arrive 10+ minutes late, we may need to reschedule or shorten your service, as we work on a tight schedule.
-
If you need to reschedule, please give at least 48 hours’ notice to transfer your deposit.
-
Please arrive on time- lateness can affect the end result in loosing your appointment.
-
Stop wearing strip lashes for 2 days prior to your lash appointment.
-
Avoid using waterproof mascara for 48 hours before your appointment.
-
If you wear contact lenses, please remove them before your treatment.
-
Do any shower, sauna, exercise before your appointment.

During Your Appointment
-
To ensure a precise application, we ask that clients limit talking during the treatment. Moving your face too much can make it difficult to apply lashes evenly.
-
Your comfort is our priority—if you experience sensitivity or discomfort, let us know immediately.
Aftercare Is Essential
Since lash lifts are a chemical procedure, proper aftercare is crucial for maintaining the health of your lashes. The treatment involves penetrating a perming solution into the hair, which allows us to manipulate the structure and shape of your lashes. Neglecting aftercare can compromise both the results and your lash health.
Aftercare Tips:
-
Avoid getting your lashes wet or using steam/heat for the first 24–48 hours.
-
Skip mascara for 24 hours and avoid waterproof formulas entirely.
-
Never wear strip lashes on top of your lift and avoid heavy eye makeup which requires a lot of rubbing to remove.
-
Use a lash-safe conditioning serum to nourish and protect your lashes. Ideally buy the one we retail as this is what we use and believe works.
-
Avoid picking, pulling, or rubbing your lash extensions—this can damage your natural lashes.
-
Gently brush your lashes daily with a clean lash wand to keep them looking their best.
-
We do not take responsibility for treatment longevity or results if aftercare is not followed.
-
Not purchasing recommended aftercare products from us may impact the longevity and overall outcome of your treatment.
-
Lash retention depends on aftercare, lifestyle, and natural lash cycle—proper care ensures longer-lasting results.
For detailed aftercare instructions, you'll be advised at the end of your lash appointment.
FAQS
1. Can I switch between lash lifts and extensions? Yes, but you need to wait at least three months after a lash lift before booking extensions to ensure your natural lashes are fully back to normal. 2. How long does a lash lift appointment take? The treatment typically takes up to 1.5 hours, including the tint, rarely it can be over depending on your natural lashes in this case surcharges apply for extra time and product. 3. Will a lash lift damage my natural lashes? When performed correctly and with proper aftercare, lash lifts are safe. However, as with any chemical treatment, care is essential to maintain the health of your lashes. 4. How long does the tint last? The tint lasts about a week, as it only coats the surface of the hair. You can book weekly tints for a small fee to keep your lash lift bold. 5. Is the L-Curl suitable for everyone? The L-Curl is best for those looking for a subtle, elongated effect. We can discuss if it’s right for you during your consultation. 6. Will tint work for dark lashes? Rarely on dark lashes does tint work as tint is black and so black on black will very subtly show if not at all. Don't be disheartened by this- you'll still get an amazing lift! 7. I don't want tint, does the price change? No, tint is complimentary so if we don't do it it just helps to reduce 5 minutes of the treatment time. Please let me know if you don't wish to have a tint. 8. Will my results the the same as the super dramatic lash lift results i see on your page? Achieving dramatic lash lift results depends largely on the characteristics of your natural lashes. If you desire a more pronounced effect, opting for our Signature Lash Lift—rather than the Fox Eye version—is recommended. However, it's important to understand that while lash lifts enhance and curl your existing lashes, they cannot add length or volume beyond what you naturally possess. Therefore, individuals with shorter or sparser lashes may not achieve the same level of drama as those with naturally longer or fuller lashes. Nonetheless, even with shorter lashes, a lash lift can provide a noticeable improvement, offering a more open and defined eye appearance. Results will vary from person to person, but rest assured, we aim to enhance your natural beauty to the fullest extent possible. 9. Would a lash lift work on my sparse, small lashes? Lash lifts can enhance the appearance of natural lashes by lifting and sometimes curling them, making them appear longer and more defined. However, for individuals with sparse or very short lashes, the results may be subtle, as the procedure relies on the existing length and volume of your natural lashes. In such cases, lash extensions might be a more suitable option. Extensions offer greater customisation in terms of length, curl, and volume, allowing for a more dramatic transformation that isn't limited by your natural lash characteristics. It's important to note that while lash lifts can sometimes yield dramatic results, the outcome largely depends on the individual's natural lashes. Therefore, for those with sparse or short lashes seeking a more noticeable enhancement, lash extensions are often recommended.
