What is PMU?
PMU Brow, also known as SPMU, ombre brows, or semi-permanent makeup, is a revolutionary treatment that uses a handheld device to deposit small, precise dots of pigment into the dermal layers of the skin. Unlike traditional tattooing, the pigment is not inserted as deeply. Our technique is designed to be gentle, ensuring a result that can range from a natural enhancement to a semi-bold, defined brow look based on your preference. We custom-mix our pigments using advanced colour skin theory, guaranteeing a perfect match to your unique skin tone and features.

Reality: I use a numbing cream and refined techniques that make the process feel like a gentle vibration. Most clients experience little to no discomfort, and any slight itchiness is usually minimal. Rest assured, the procedure is gentle—most clients sometimes even relax enough to doze off! -
Myth: “It will look blocky or overly saturated.”
Reality: Poor results often stem from inexperienced technicians. In my hands, PMU is applied with precision—using a pen to deposit pigment in dots rather than harsh, linear cuts. I work with a carefully chosen palette to ensure natural, harmonious colour that enhances rather than overwhelms. -
Myth: “It changes your natural brows completely.”
Reality: My approach is to enhance your natural brows. I work within your existing shape, filling gaps and adding subtle thickness. This means you continue your regular hair removal routine and maintain the integrity of your natural brows. -
Myth: "It's the same as a tattoo, I don't want to commit to a lifetime"
The only similarity PMU has to traditional tattoos is the machine is the same but other than that everything else is different. With PMU the pigments are different and we do not penetrate as deep into the skin layers and so therefore this is why it's semi permanent lasting 1-3 years and requires yearly top up sessions to maintain them due to the colour fading.
The Treatment Process
Step 1: Pre Consultation & Base Preparation

Pre Consultation (£15):
Your journey begins with a one-on-one consultation that includes a brow wax to create a perfect canvas. I ask customised questions, take a detailed photo, and gather all the information I need—this helps me design the ideal brow shape tailored to your features. We will also do a necessary brow wax to help create the perfect canvas, any hairs out place will distract the mapping and results. The cost of the treament only reflects covering the cost of the waxing but the consultation is free. -
Pre-Appointment Study:
Between your consultation and treatment day, I study your photo and goals. I plan every detail, including the exact pigment and mapping strategy, ensuring we get it right the first time.
After your pre-consultation, you’ll receive a detailed document filled with all the information you need to prepare for your treatment. This guide covers what to expect on the day, comprehensive aftercare instructions, and more. We never accept last-minute PMU bookings, as proper preparation is key.
We recommend allowing a few days between your pre-consultation and the initial PMU session—this gives your skin time to heal after your brow wax and ensures your brow hairs haven’t regrown too much. Many clients opt to have a verbal consultation a few weeks in advance, then schedule a brief 15-minute brow wax a few days before their PMU appointment, which is exactly what we recommend.
Step 2:The First PMU Session
- ​Mapping (1 to 1.5 Hours):
On your appointment day, I spend the first hour (or so, depending on complexity) mapping your brows. I draw a pencil outline for you to approve. Though the initial drawing might look bold, rest assured it’s simply a guide.
- Tattooing:
After mapping, I move on to the tattooing process—typically taking around an hour. This method uses a gentle pen technique to deposit pigment in precise dots, creating natural, 3-D effects.

Immediate Aftercare:
At the end of your session, I provide you with a complementary aftercare serum and a detailed guide (available as a Google doc) on how to care for your new brows.
Step 3: Six- Week Top-Up
It’s essential to book a top-up appointment for six weeks later. Due to the healing process, you will lose 40-50% of the pigment initially, and this session is crucial to perfect the final look and a chance to make any minor changes. Top-ups typically last around two hours and ensure your brows look flawless and balanced.
Pre Care & Preparation
Before your appointment, please note the following guidelines:

Growth: Let your brows grow out—stop any hair removal methods and schedule a wax about three days prior to your appointment.

Test Patch: Ensure your test patch is carried out at least 48 hours before your session (this is mandatory for your safety and is provided free of charge, often during your verbal consultation a few weeks before).

Health & Skincare:

Avoid using retinol or strong skincare products around the brow area before your treatment.
-
Do not use sunbeds or expose your brows to excessive sun for at least one week before the procedure.
-
Don't have chemical peels within 8 weeks of pmu, 6 weeks for microdermabrasion or botox and 3 weeks for fillers. Please adhere to the recommended waiting periods.

Consultation:
A consultation in advance is essential ensure your expectations are aligned with what PMU can achieve. Please share any concerns or questions you have during this time.
Terms & Conditions / Candidate Requirements
To qualify as a suitable candidate for PMU brows, you must meet the following criteria:

Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older.

Prior Procedures: No previous PMU or microblading procedures.

Health Considerations:

Non-pregnant and non-breastfeeding individuals.
-
No history of specific medical conditions, including lupus, viral infections, heart issues, pacemaker use, organ transplants, or skin conditions near the brow area (e.g. eczema, psoriasis, rosacea).

No metal or colour patch test allergies, keloid propensity, or recent Accutane use within the last year.
-
Exceptions may be possible with a medical clearance note, but full disclosure is required to comply with salon regulations and avoid forfeiture of the booking fee.

Time Commitment:

Each PMU session lasts up to 3 hours, with a pre-consultation of approximately 30 minutes.

The service typically comprises 2–3 sessions. Failure to attend all sessions within the designated timeframe may incur additional charges and forfeiture of booking fees.

A third session (secondary retouch) may be necessary depending on your skin’s response.

Periodic yearly touch-ups will be required to maintain your desired brow appearance.

You consent to the capture of images and videos for promotional purposes.

A non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your appointment.
